The Absinthe Frappe is a refreshing New Orleans-style cocktail: a clean, refreshing powerful mix of absinthe, ice, sugar and mint.

Once enjoyed as a morning pick-me-up after a night out,  this simple classic absinthe cocktail perfectly showcases the herbal , citrus and mint notes in Deep South Green Absinthe.   Simple  to make, but be sure to find a balance between all of the flavours: not too sweet, not too much aniseed and just a little minty. 


  • 50ml Deep South Absinthe
  • 12ml simple syrup or to taste
  • Sprig of fresh mint leaves
  • Ice (crushed)

To make

  1. Stir absinthe and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice until mixed and chilled.
  2. Strain absinthe into a glass half filled with crushed ice and stir briefly
  3. Top up with more crushed ice 
  4. Garnish with a sprig of mint
