This simple vodka and fresh orange juice cocktail is a real favourite, whether served at a brunch instead of champagne, or as a sundowner.

Serve it ice cold, or it becomes sweet and sticky, and preferably use freshly squeezed orange juice.   If you are a vodka lover, for a more punchy drink, serve with a triple shot of vodka so the bite of the vodka can make itself felt above the strong tastes of the citrus and go easy on the seconds!

  • 50ml Deep South Premium Vodka
  • 100 ml freshly squeezed orange juice or to taste
  • 10ml simple syrup
  • Orange slice and mint to garnish
  • 3 dash Deep South Orange Bitters (optional)

To make

  1. Build the vodka, orange juice and simple syrup over ice in a Collins or highball glass
  2. Stir well and garnish with Orange slice and a sprig of mint
  3. Add a few dashes of orange bitters on top

  • Punch it up by adding another 25ml of vodka to the mix
  • Float 12 ml Galliano on the top for a Harvey Wallbanger
  • Add a dash of grenadine for a Sunrise effect
