This delicious cocktail was famously invented at Raffles Hotel in Singapore in 1915 as a way of allowing society ladies to disguise their alcoholic drinks as an innocuous fruit punch, and so enjoy a cooling beverage under the disapproving eyes of others.
Ingredients
- 40ml Deep South Citrus Gin
- 12ml cherry-flavoured brandy or kirsch
- 8ml splash of triple sec
- 8ml Benedictine® Liqueur
- 100ml pineapple juice
- 12ml lime juice
- 12 ml grenadine syrup
- slice of pineapple and maraschino cherry
To make
- Half-fill a Collins glass with ice and set aside in the freezer.
- Shake all other liquids in a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice until chilled.
- Strain into the prepared Collins glass
- Garnish with slice of pineapple and a cherry.
